We can see the same miracles, yes, even greater, because Jesus is with the Father. Just believe, and His Power is released! 'Truly I tell you, whoever believes in Me will do the same works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.' (John 14.12)

'Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk." And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.' (Acts 3.1-10)

What occurred in this Bible story only happened because of the miracle of the resurrection. These two disciples, Peter and John, were on their way into the Temple; the story tells us of a lame man, he was 40 years old. He was born lame. It wasn't caused by an earthquake. It wasn't caused by a car accident. He was born like it. He had never walked. He never knew what it was to run and play football. He couldn't go to school. He had no money. No social security. He depended on people to give him something. Yet, suddenly, something that day was to change his whole life.

This man was living a very desperate, poor life. Each year thousands of people walked past him as they went into the Temple. People came from all over the known world to worship there. Yet there was something different about these two disciples, Peter and John. What was it, that this 40-year-old lame man suddenly sees in these two men; he begins to call out; normally he would sit so silent; he wasn't allowed to go into the Temple; disabled people were not allowed inside. Suddenly he begins to shout, he recognised something about these two men which was different. I'll tell you what it was. These men had been with Jesus. They had lived with Jesus for three years; they had seen the miracles, felt the Power, felt the blessing; I am going to tell you that the life and Power of Jesus had changed these two men. They were ordinary men; they were not educated. They were fishermen who were used to a hard day's work. They were young and strong. Ordinary men who had been with Jesus. When the lame man saw them, he knew there was something dramatically different about these men.

In previous Gospel stories, people would cry out to Jesus, but He isn't on earth anymore, Jesus had ascended to be with His Father. Yet something about Jesus had rubbed off on these men. Something of the love of Jesus; something of the Power of Jesus had changed these men. The lame man cried out to them, he was asking for money; he knew nothing else. What else did he want? He knew that nobody could heal him. Nobody could change his life. This man had no hope of a miracle. In previous stories, if it had been Jesus he was calling to, he would have cried out, "Jesus help me". Jesus would have responded, "What do you want?" "I want to walk! I want to be healed!" But this was not Jesus. The man had no hope. He expected very little. All he wanted was money for food. Maybe money for one day at a time. In this man's life there was only one day: yesterday was just pain in his legs, tomorrow would be no better than today. His tomorrow was suffering, rejection and misery. Yet he sees that there is something different about Peter and John.

Let me tell you what happened to Peter and John. This is exciting. Jesus said, "Boys, when I go home to My Father, I am going to send the Holy Spirit; the same Holy Spirit that is in Me, will be in you; and all the miracles you saw Me do, when I have gone, you are going to do bigger miracles! You will see more miracles; greater miracles; more powerful than anything you have ever seen in your life!"
