I will come to you shortly, if the Lord wills, and I will know, not the word of those who are puffed up, but the power. (1 Corinthians 4:19, NKJV)
I’m testing and proving what I preach. That’s why the Apostle Paul wrote to the Corinthians, ‘I’m going to come to you, but I’m not coming puffed up as a greater speaker. I’m coming to you as one who has seen and demonstrated the Power!’ No one can deny, those early apostles were seeing and demonstrating the Power. The whole of the Acts of the Apostles is based on the demonstration and fulfilment of the Power which came on the Day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit fell. The whole testimony of the Book of Acts is of men going out and doing everything Jesus had promised! That’s been my life!
People talk about revival. Almost every place I go to, they say there’s some prophecy that revival will break out there. But I’m not sitting down, waiting for revival! I’m living it, I’m acting it out! I’ve seen Holy Ghost revival sweep through more than one nation. I take Scripture as fact, and I expect to see it demonstrated. NOW! Some of my key workers, my best overseas organisers have seen for themselves this Power, it’s not the words, it’s the action: one brought his son as a baby with breathing problems and he was completely healed; another man had a burst gallbladder whilst working for me, preparing the places I was to go to – he lay dying in a poor hospital without the medications or equipment to save him – I was able to get to him and pray with him, and he was totally restored. He still works for me today. He knows, he saw the Power of God in his own life.
This is what I do in evangelism. Yes, I talk about the miracles, I talk about the Power, I talk about what God is doing – but then I pray with the sick and expect to see the answer! I don’t just pray with them and let them all go home. No! This is what happens. I call them to repentance, to give their lives to Christ, but NOW I want to show the Power that Jesus has! By the miracles that will follow! I call on them to call on the Name of Jesus – and the miracles happen instantly. And I call them up on the platform as the evidence and the proof, so that the new converts can see the Power of God in action! All this came from that time all those years ago, when God said to me, “Shut up. Stop talking. Go out and do it, and don’t come back until you’ve done it!” And I haven’t finished doing it yet!
