Hebrews Bible Study Chapter 1. The first chapter of Hebrews describes in detail how Jesus Christ fulfils the prophecies of the Old Testament. In the past God spoke to His people by various means: Isaiah, in visions; Jacob, in dreams; whilst to Abraham and Moses, God spoke personally. But now God speaks through Jesus. Jesus is the fulfilment and culmination of God’s revelation. When we know Jesus, we have all we need to be saved and have a perfect relationship with God.
God does what He says! When I am seeking the Lord in prayer over some specific issue, I want to see His answer in writing: I don’t want a ‘word’ or ‘impression’, I want it written in the Bible! Twenty years ago, when I was battling lung cancer, God gave me the clear answer that I would be healed from the very Scriptures that I want to share with you in this message!
Don’t talk to me only about a vision for the future. The vision is for now, today! I have the power – Pentecost fell on me – I have the glory of God – and so do you! The glory of God is here – just open your eyes and see! Get the vision. Mix your vision with faith. Act! Nothing is impossible! If God exists why does he allow suffering? This question has been in people’s minds very much recently. God is not responsible for natural disasters; these have a natural explanation. But God has more than once used disasters as a warning, for example, as it was in the days of Noah, or the plagues in Egypt. Is God allowing something big enough to shake people out of their total apathy and indifference, and at least reawaken some moral conscience.
